AVAILABILITY
US Patent Prosecution History Files are archived in off-site warehouse facilities in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Facilities are closed to the public.
Delivery times from these storage facilities vary. Generally, the older the file the longer the delivery time. Recent patent file histories can be available within one or two business days while older files can take up to six weeks.

Albright IP organizes prosecution histories and ships them to you indexed and bound in a three part folding file folder similar to that used by the USPTO. Patent file histories are also available on CD-ROM in .pdf format and can be provided either Indexed only or Indexed & Searchable.

Regarding requests for patent file histories on CD-ROM, please note the following:
In most cases, paper copies of these files still need to be obtained and hand-copied before being transferred to CD-ROM.
We need to know clearly if you want the paper copy of the file shipped along with the CD-ROM or if you want it to be destroyed. Please be sure to include instructions when making the request.
FEES
A $35 retrieval fee will be assessed on all file history requests, in addition to the per page charge listed below. Shipping charges are additional and will vary according to method and weight.
